Farmers Market welcomes additional Grad Student Katie!

We are excited to welcome Katie Knowles to the team as our Economic Vitality Graduate Assistant. Katie will be assisting FWC is managing the Woodfords Corner Farmer Market. Welcome, Katie!

Katie is a graduate student at the University of Southern Maine pursuing a Master’s degree in Policy, Planning, and Management, where she has focused her studies on food systems and how they relate to broader justice and equity issue. A passionate lover of all things food-related, Katie has an educational background in culinary arts and has worked in Portland restaurants for over a decade, in both the front and back of house. Her enthusiasm and commitment to improving Maine’s food system and building community made for a perfect match for FWC’s graduate assistant position. When she is not balancing school with work and being a mother, Katie can be found baking sourdough bread, hosting dinner parties, practicing yoga, and spending time by the ocean or in the woods.
