Nooks and Crannies: FWC to enter PSA design competition

FWC wants to influence design of the smaller spaces in Woodfords Corner. We all know that Forest Ave is going to remain the same, but many cities have delightful urban hubs that have a major thoroughfare running through them. That’s how they became a main street. And it’s actually within those constraints that design becomes fun.

We are looking at WC from the street level now - into the nooks and crannies that make a walkable neighborhood fun, safe, interesting, and useful. A team of volunteers from Woodfords Corner are designing some ideas captured at our interactive map sessions to submit to the Portland Society of Art Complete City Imagined design competition. Watch for our submission in the coming month. We’ll share our ideas with the city for the public spaces and with property owners of the private spaces. Who knows what may become of this creative thinking!

What would you like to see in the nooks and crannies of WC? Click here for more info about the PSA Complete City Imagined design competition. See the first step below - looking at WC from a birds eye view. Now we’re getting down to design. What would you do with the 3 WC nooks and crannies below? Send us some ideas at info@woodfordscorner.org
