Thank you Eric Blasco!

With much gratitude. FWC honors Eric Blasco for a year of service with FWC. Eric was the seventh graduate assistant from University of Southern Maine as part of an innovative ongoing partnership between Friends of Woodfords Corner and USM’s Muskie School of Public Service.  Launched in 2019, the partnership between USM and FWC provides on-the-ground student experiences in a wide variety of community development and organization activities while earning a modest income through funds provided by Maine Economic Investment Fund (MEIF). Eric’s graduate work focuses mental health counseling. We brought him in as a graduate assistant for Woodfords Corner Farmers Market based on his rich background in community programming for farming/urban gardening and schools in Philadelphia before moving to Portland to pursue his Masters. Eric’s calm and engaging presence at the market each week made the market a delight for vendors and visitors alike. We wish him all the best in the remainder of his Masters program and are thrilled we’ll see him in the neighborhood.
