Capstone Project: A Case Study in Woodfords Corner for Farmers Markets as a Revitalization Tool

This Spring, our former graduate assistant Katie Knowles completed her time with Friends of Woodfords Corner and completed her master’s degree in Policy, Planning, and Management from the University of Southern Maine. Her capstone project, “Farmers Markets as a Tool for Downtown Revitalization and Economic Development: A Case Study in Woodfords Corner,” tells the story of the Woodfords Corner Farmers Market, and why we think it’s a good addition to our neighborhood. Katie now serves as the Farm and Sea to School coordinator for Maine’s Department of Education and Child Nutrition.
