Welcome Our New Board Member, Courtni!
We are excited to announce that Courtni Jeffers has joined Friends of Woodfords Corner’s Board of Directors! Courtni will also sit on FWC’s Economic Vitality committee.
Courtni has a Master of Science in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University and a Master of Public Health from George Washington University. She is the Assistant Director of Thesis Advising and Assistant Clinical Professor for UNE Graduate Public Health Programs. Courtni also teaches a narrative equity course in the Narrative Medicine Program at Columbia University. In addition to teaching narrative medicine, she facilitates narrative medicine workshops for hospitals and clinics in Maine, recently co-leading a series with the Portland Museum of Art for Maine Medical Center.
Courtni’s passions lie at the intersection of population health and individual well-being. Her collaboration and work aim to reflect the ethical responsibility to the content and the context of individual and community stories. Her expertise lies in social marketing, program planning and evaluation, narrative competency, health literacy, and equipping others to give and receive accounts of self to further individual and community healing through narrative and cultural humility.
