Trinity leads four churches in packing 30,000 meals for Ukraine
This is how community happens. On April 9, Peter Swarr, priest of Trinity Episcopal Church, gathered 85 volunteers from Trinity and three other congregations (Woodfords Congregational, St Peter’s Episcopal and First Church in Yarmouth) to pack 30, 000 meals to ship to the refugees in western Ukraine. They raised over $10, 000 from their communities and assembled the boxes in 2 hours. Reverend Swarr hopes to make this kind of community service a quarterly event and provide food to local organizations and agencies that are serving people with food insecurity here in Maine. Thank you neighbors!
