On Zoom — 12-1pm

Wednesday, April 20: 3x3 Poetry Reading #2
580 Forest Ave — 6-7 pm
Join poets and friends in the Greater Portland community for 3x3: A Poetry Reading Series! Over the course of three Wednesday evenings, a selection of women poets will read new work in Trinity Episcopal Church’s sanctuary. April 20 features Betsy Sholl, Samantha DeFlitch, and Lily Greenberg. The readings will begin at 6pm and last about an hour, followed by books for sale and signings. The events are free and open to the public. Masks are now optional.

Thursday, April 28: 8th Annual Rail Road Cleanup
Meet @ Big Sky Bakery - 4-6pm
This is the 8th annual RR clean up hosted by Friends of Woodfords Corner. We partner with Pan Am Railroad's Rick Fowler and local volunteers to pick up the loose trash along the tracks from Brighton to Forest. This year we'll also weed the small triangle green space that we call Saunders Triangle. It's the entryway into the corner. If you're available, please come by and pitch in. Bring your face covering, we'll have gloves and water for you.

Friday, April 29: Odd Fellows Hall Tour
Odd Fellows Hall, 651 Forest Ave
Spend an evening in the Corner meeting the Odd Fellows—the hall is a vital part of Woodfords Corner history. The Odd Fellows are graciously opening the hall for a small group of neighbors to tour and learn some of the history from the members themselves. There are 25 spaces available on the tour, use the button below to register!
The tour will be held on Friday 4/29 at 5pm, please meet at the front door of the Hall, 651 Forest Avenue, for check-in.

Portland Ballet’s season closes with Nell Shipman’s Firebird. Based on the classic Russian folktale, the Firebird is a powerful ballet set to the music of Stravinsky. Full of dynamic performance, beauty and magic, Portland Ballet's recreation of this neo-classical ballet became an audience favorite when it premiered in 2018.
Face masks are required for all audience members, regardless of vaccination status. Proof of vaccination or negative COVID test required for attendees over 12 years old. COVID-19 safety requirements are subject to change based on CDC recommendations and venue policies.

In these two hours we will alternate between easy flowing Qigong movements and standing, sitting, and lying down meditation. The meditations shared will combine Qigong wisdom, mindfulness, and subtle energy-balancing visualization. We'll end the afternoon with some self massage and some tapping. Read more>>>

- Pay rate to start is $20/hour, higher rates available with hardscape installation experience and plant knowledge.
- Lewis Brothers Landscaping is also offering guaranteed bonuses of $500.00 at the end of July and November. Higher amounts will be available based on work ethic, listening skills, and quality of work.
- Work season begins April 4, 2022 and generally runs through November.

Meet Kyle Randall: Corner Artist!
Kyle T. Randall is a Portland, Maine based independent artist living on Codman street in Woodford's Corner. He uses primarily watercolor and ink to depict the city around him, among other things. One of Kyle's favorite projects is a monthly postcard subscription box, which supports him making and sending monthly postcards to over 40 subscribers. Kyle loves cycling, mail, and coffee.
Kyle was the artist for the Maine Downtown Center Award presented to FWC in January!

Coming Soon: New Levey Day School Playground!
There's a new playground coming to the neighborhood! Levey Day School is excited to share their plans to build a vibrant park and playground open to all, that fosters community and is accessible to children of all abilities. The Levey community is close to reaching their fundraising goal, but is still looking for supporters.
