In FEB - support WC non-profit ACOG while you buy great local food!
Portland Food Co-Op partners with 12 small local non-profits a year in their Register Round-Up program.
For February, A Company of Girls [ACOG], one of the several non-profits housed at the Woodfords Congregational Church, is the partner! ACOG strengthens and empowers girls and fosters community through the visual, performing, and culinary arts. By building critical social/emotional skills and providing high-quality, intensive mentorship, ACOG lays the foundation for positive risk-taking and decision-making, healthy adult, family, and peer relationships, leadership opportunities, and success in school. ACOG’s Outreach Programs bring free programming into underserved neighborhoods/communities, and their Core Afterschool Program provide 150-200 hours of art enrichment per girl, per year.
Other non-profits located in Woodfords Corner or doing work have benefitted from this generous program - Birth Roots, The Locker Project, and Greater Family Promise. What a great way to support local food and local folk.
