Trinity Park Committee - caring for the green

While we can’t do large community gatherings at Trinity Park this year, our little park still needs care. Thank you to the eight volunteers from Trinity Episcopal Church and Woodfords Corner neighborhood who began sprucing up Trinity Park on Friday. They are Bill and Linda Gordon and their grandsons Oliver and Finn, Doug Crosby, Davis Hartwell, Bill Redding and Teresa Valliere.

Trinity Park - the small triangle of green at 580 Forest Ave - is one of the 63 city parks scattered about Portland. Over the last several decades, the Trinity Church members had been caring for the park; Friends of Woodfords Corner joined their effort 3 years ago, and last year we together hosted Third Thursdays at Trinity Park.

The Trinity Park committee is planning to do smaller beautification and maintenance projects this summer. We need volunteers willing to help weeding, spreading mulch and planting more perennials. Also, we are hoping to fill out the flower beds by mass planting some of the sun and shade perennials that are already there. If you have any of the following from your splits, or others that might be beautiful and easy to care for, please email us.

Hosta

Solomon Seal - tall and dwarf

Lilly of the Valley

Astilbe

Coral Bell

Come have some fun with us in the park. We are careful about Covid precautions and work in pairs or small groups. Contact us at VOLUNTEER or for more information about Trinity Park Committee, contact Teresa at woodfordscorner@gmail.com.
