The Great Good Place by Ray Oldenburg

There are many lessons from the pandemic and here’s another one to consider. Community needs places for people to mix - what Ray Oldenburg calls the Great Good Place. Friends of Woodfords Corner is committed to helping the corner become a vibrant hub. This means supporting and promoting the great good places that are part of a bustling neighborhood commercial district - cafes, coffee shops, bookstores, bars, hair salons, and other hangouts. When the pandemic slows down and the economy turns to recovery, we hope for a flourishing of places for local people to gather in Woodfords Corner. Currently we have some great restaurants and two coffee shops coming in the spring. Let’s imagine the corner with movie theater, book store, and a corner pub too.
