What’s a Revitalization Roadmap?

Friends of Woodfords Corner was recently selected by the Maine Downtown Center to receive a streamlined 7-10 week Revitalization Roadmap planning exercise. The work will be supported by Downtown Redevelopment Services (DRS), a planning consulting firm, and will culminate in a week-long series of meetings and events this fall to engage with business owners, residents, property owners, and municipal officials in the community.

As a final product, DRS will produce a report including specific recommendations that can be implemented over a 2 to 5 year period with available community resources including community capacity, community character, built environment, real estate development, and streetscape.

“This project energizes communities and gives them powerful tools to move their community forward,” says Anne Ball, Maine Downtown Center Program Director. Three other affiliates - Houlton, Hallowell, and Old Town - have completed Revitalization Roadmap exercises.
