Woodfords Corner Jigsaw Puzzle Competition & Puzzle Swap!

Jigsaw Puzzle Competition

Join us for a fun-filled speed puzzling contest! Teams of two (2) will compete to finish the same 500-piece puzzle within a 3-hour time limit. After the competition, teams will get to keep the puzzle. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams. Puzzlers of all ages and abilities are welcome!

Puzzle Swap

A free Puzzle Swap will be included for all registered puzzlers. For each puzzle you bring, you may take home one puzzle of similar piece count and quality. The swap is by honor system, and it will run throughout the event. Puzzles must be complete (have no missing pieces) and will be organized on tables by number of pieces. Please do not bring any puzzles with missing pieces. The puzzle swap is optional - participants are not required to bring a puzzle to swap.

 
 

Puzzle Competition Rules & FAQ’s

 

  • Each team will receive the same wrapped puzzle. When the clock starts at 2pm, everyone will unwrap the puzzle, open the puzzle box, and begin puzzling. Rankings will be determined by finish time. You will have up to 3 hours to complete the puzzle. Prizes from local businesses will be awarded to the three fastest teams.

  • A team consists of a maximum of 2 people.

  • We use 8-foot rectangular tables, and will divide each table in half (2 teams per table), for a total of 8 square feet. Each team will get their table assignment when they arrive. This space might be smaller than what you are used to at home so you may want to become familiar with the size of the space prior to the event.

  • The registration fee covers:

    • Both members of your team’s entry into the competition.

    • The cost of a high quality, puzzle that each team gets to keep.

  • The clock will start promptly at 2pm, so please prepare to arrive around 1:30pm to check-in, find your table, and browse the puzzle swap. Please allow extra time for parking.

  • No – the event is open to all ages and abilities! 

  • A volunteer will write your time down when you are finished. Once you finish your puzzle, you can box up your puzzle and take it home with you. You can then either leave the event or you are welcome to stick around to browse the puzzle swap tables, eat some snacks, chat with other participants, and cheer on and/or help the other teams still working!

PUZZLE SWAP: Not interested in competing? Join us at the Swap! Even if you are not registered for the competition, you may come enjoy the festivities and swap your puzzle(s). Please only take home the same amount of puzzles that you bring. Come anytime between 2 and 5pm, and feel free to stay and watch the puzzlers work on their puzzles.

FOOD & DRINK: You may bring in your own food or drinks. Drinks and snacks will also be available for cash donation, along with Friends of Woodfords Corner merchandise. We will provide updates on food/snack options as the date gets closer!
