Every year, Portland Conservatory of Music celebrates the best in contemporary music across a variety of genres, with a particular focus on Maine and New England composers. FRIDAY night, April 7, 7:30 pm – Woodfords Church Sanctuary
Harold Stover, pipe organ pieces; Portland String Quartet, Elliott Schwartz’s String Quartet No. 3, “Portrait for Deedee:” Portland Piano Trio, pieces by Case, Boyd, Gunn, and Kayali.
SATURDAY afternoon, April 8 (times tba) – Woodfords Church Sanctuary
PCM student performers, miscellaneous other chamber works, including by Fithian, Newell, Hall, etc. Possible tribute to Pauline Oliveros.
SUNDAY afternoon, April 9, 2:00 pm – SPACE Gallery
A concert of pieces focusing on the spoken word, tying in to National Poetry Month, including reading by former Maine Poet Laureate Betsy Sholl with jazz musicians.
