Join the FWC Housing Team

The FWC Housing Team hosted a station at CornerFest where neighbors drew their favorite home under a timeline of the decade of their lives when they lived there. The activity encouraged neighbors to consider the diversity of housing that Woodfoods Corner could benefit from, especially given Portland’s housing supply and affordability challenges.

If you are interested in housing issues and the role housing plays in community development, we welcome you to join the FWC Housing Team. To join, please contact Lily Sage at lily.elizabeth.sage@gmail.com

Saunders Triangle is getting spruced up!

Our wonderful GC&S volunteer, Betsy, has been leading the charge to spruce up the Saunders Triangle--the bit of green space at the intersection of Saunders St and Forest Ave by the train tracks.  Check out the progress Betsy and her crew have already made!

Betsy coordinated with the City of Portland and Dig Safe and got the go ahead to do native planting in the triangle.  This pollinator garden will contain over 250 native perennials, with the capacity to feed 5,000 pollinators each day.

If you are interested in volunteering for this project, reach out to info@woodfordscorner.org

Abbiocco means "the contented drowsiness that follows a hearty meal”.  It is housed in the former Sissle and Daughters space and offers fresh pasta and wine in a warm, family-friendly environment.

Cole, the chef/owner of Abbiocco, is a native New Englander who returned home after going to culinary school and working in restaurants in Austin, Texas. Now he is sharing his talents with us in his cozy little Woodfords Corner spot.

It is a family affair over at Abbiocco with lots of family members pitching in to get the restaurant up and running.  They are currently accepting reservations so bring your family and leave content!
