Thank you to Vonnett Seeger for her board service!
Vonnett is a tireless champion of the Woodfords Corner neighborhood. Back in the fall of 2018, a neighbor invited Vonnett to come help at the Trinity Park fall cleanup and after that initial meeting is was clear that her enthusiasm and commitment to community would be a great addition to FWC’s board. Never having been on a non-profit board, especially a young upstart board, she jumped right in. For the past 6 years she has continued to enrich our conversations with important questions, creative ideas, and a willingness to expand our organization’s impact. She is a natural connector who is always seeking out opportunities for neighbors to contribute. Serving on two teams (Active Transportation and Green, Clean & Sustainable) she was a leader in walking school bus to Ocean Ave Elementary School for a year and frequently helps with Trinity Park cleanups. She leads the the Deering Avenue Planters project and annual Woodfords Community Garden Tour, two initiatives that help beautify the neighborhood and are now standards of our yearly work. While we will miss her at the board level, we’re excited and grateful that she will continue on the Green, Clean & Sustainable team going forward. She embodies our '“neighbor is a verb” tagline. Thank you so much Vonnett!
