JAN. 28: A Neighborhood History of Woodfords Corner
Back by popular demand and now VIRTUAL, Julie Larry, Director of Advocacy at Greater Portland Landmarks, will join Friends of Woodfords Corner for a special presentation of A Neighborhood History of Woodfords Corner.

Woodfords Corner has historically been the commercial heart of its surrounding suburban neighborhoods. When Deering was its own municipality, the corner also served as the civic center of the city of Deering. Join us to learn more about the history of the corner, its surrounding neighborhoods, and landmark buildings!

JAN. 7: Remote Kick-off Meeting for Design Manual Overhaul
The design manual overhaul process will commence this month with a kick-off meeting to present the project and hear community input on the design review process and design outcomes in Portland. More info >>

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: FWC Clean & Green Committee
Want to help organize clean-up, gardening, and aesthetic community projects in Woodfords Corner this year? Join the FWC Clean & Green Committee to contribute your time and talents towards making these neighborhood beautification activities come to fruition! The FWC Clean & Green Committee will meet monthly via Zoom this winter and spring to plan projects, then host project events during the warmer months. Our next meeting is on Friday, January 15, at 4:30 pm. Email volunteer@woodfordscorner.org to express interest in joining the committee, and we'll send you the Zoom meeting link!

Thank You, City Officials, for Spending Time with Us!

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Mayor Kate Snyder and City Councilors Mark Dion, Andrew Zarro, April Fournier, and Tae Chong for taking the time to meet with us over the past two months. City officials walked around Woodfords Corner with members of our Board of Directors and Active Transportation Committee to learn about the Corner's assets and challenges.
