Welcome new coffee house Shaghf next to the Back Cove Books!

FWC board members Teresa and Liz stopped by to meet the new owners for Shaghf cafe located on the first floor of the Odd Fellows Building on Forest Avenue, right in the heart of the corner. Brothers Ahmed and Mokhalad Albadri returned to Portland from Texas (they went to Deering High School) to open a coffee house in their old neighborhood. It took a year of planning and buildout to create the love new space. The atmostphere bright and cheerful and on this hot day, air conditioned, there is plenty of seating and WiFi.

Shaghf is an Arabic word that means passion and that is exactly our goal, to create something where passion meets opportunity. Established in year 2018, Shaghf Coffee Company is the pioneer of Arab coffee culture in the UAE. The Shaghf Café chain of espresso bars delivers a true coffee experience in a warm, friendly and relaxed environment. It provides a comfortable place for people to unwind over interesting conversations and a hot cup of coffee. We have over 65 Shaghf Cafes across many countries in the world, and 13 in the US.

If you get a chance to stop by try the chocolate mousse with strawberries and pistachios - a delight. Currently hours are 7 days week, 11am-10 pm, though the hours may change a bit in the future. Welcome to the neigbhorhoo Ahmed and Mokhalad, and we wish you great success on this new business.
