Recap: 2nd Annual Woodfords Community Garden Tour a Wild Success!
On June 11, Woodfords Corner welcomed hundreds of garden enthusiasts from near and far to our 2022 Community Garden Tour. Attendees walked and biked to tour 12 special gardens in the Woodfords area, generously opened to the public by neighborhood gardeners.
The event benefitted Friends of Woodfords Corner (once again serving as our largest annual fundraising event), and A Company of Girls, one our cherished local nonprofit organizations whose mission is to strengthen and empower girls and their families and foster community through the arts.
With an estimated 300+ attendees, we consider the event a wild success from multiple fronts:
We raised critical funds for the Friends of Woodfords Corner and A Company of Girls to work on our ongoing initiatives and programs;
Hundreds of people were out and about in Woodfords Corner, patronizing Corner businesses, particularly restaurants and food vendors;
We got to see some incredible gardens and get inspired!
And last and most of all, we all got to spend time with neighbors and enjoy our community!
