Biz Survey Data is in!

First, a big thank you to all the business owners who took time out of their day to fill out our survey. We have learned a lot about our community and we couldn’t have done it without you.

In total, 25 businesses completed the survey in the last two months, telling us what they need to thrive and what is holding them back. Below are some highlights from the survey.

  • 70% of respondents are interested in “Corner beautification.” Lucky for you, FWC is expanding our planter program this summer and we are looking for volunteers to water and maintain them. If you are interested in watering some plants this summer or sponsoring the program, let us know.

  • About 60% of respondents agreed that businesses should collaborate and that businesses should pool their resources to address community needs. We have been hearing this interest from the community for a long time and it is good to see the data back that up. We don’t have any plans to start a business networking program but we have been discussing it so stay tuned.

  • In multiple questions, businesses identified parking as a perennial issue in the Corner. We hear you. Our best solution right now is to educate customers on where to park. There is an interactive parking map that lives permanently on our Facebook page that you can reference at any time. We will also distribute copies to those businesses who said they were interested in getting a copy.

  • About 70% of respondents reported that they would be interested in community events. The good news is that FWC is planning to bring back Corner Fest this fall! For those who don’t know, Corner Fest is a neighborhood block party with live music, good food, and arts. We haven’t picked a day yet but we are anticipating early fall. If you are interested in getting involved or sponsoring the event in any way, please get in touch.

Again, a big thanks to everyone who took the time to fill out this survey, the data is truly valuable. If anyone has any questions about the data, wants to learn more, or wants to get involved with FWC please click on the get involved tab and fill out the form. We will reach out from there.

Two businesses were randomly selected to receive $50 gift cards for completing the survey. Winners are Denielle owner of Rebel Pet Grooming and Bruno Ndala of Ndala Market. They chose Foodie Friends and Bird & Co for their gifts.
