Volunteer for the FWC!

Friends of Woodfords Corner is a volunteer-run organization and has multiple standing committees that meet regularly (monthly or every other month) to accomplish our work, as well as seasonal committees that plan events and daylong initiatives. We welcome the help of volunteers who are willing to serve on these committees, as well as event volunteers and task-oriented volunteers. You can complete the form below to express interest in lending a hand as an FWC volunteer, and we’ll be in touch to get you involved!

FWC Standing Committees:

  • Active Transportation Committee: Make Woodfords Corner more inviting, friendly, and safe for people to walk, bike, and use Metro.

  • Communications & Marketing Committee: Manage FWC’s communications and marketing. This includes curating the website, monthly newsletter, and social media, and marketing FWC events and initiatives.

  • Economic Vitality Committee: Engage the Corner’s business community and its customers to bolster the economic vitality in the area.

  • Resource Development Committee: Work to make Friends of Woodfords Corner a sustainable organization through fundraising, friendraising, and volunteer recruitment and management.

  • Trinity Park Committee: Promote Trinity Park as a public space for all to enjoy. Work to advocate for, and assist with, maintenance and upkeep of this public space. Plan and promote 3rd Thursdays in Trinity Park events in June, July, and August.

FWC Seasonal Committees:

  • Spring Social Planning Committee: Plan and promote the Friends of Woodfords Corner annual Spring Social (annual meeting) event. Committee is active February – May.

  • CornerFEST Planning Committee: With volunteers from the Woodfords Congregational Church, plan and promote the annual CornerFEST event. Committee is active May – September.

FWC Volunteer Activities:

  • Adopt a Stop: Help clear snow from bus stops in and around the Corner to help make using the METRO more safe and accessible!

  • Event Volunteering: The FWC Spring Social, Third Thursdays at Trinity Park, and CornerFEST are events that require many helping hands to set up, conduct, and clean up. This volunteer gig is perfect for those who can only give a day or two!
