Help Us Hire Staff in 2023!
As 2022 comes to a close, we are feeling deeply appreciative of the many people who have helped Friends of Woodfords Corner reach the milestones we’ve achieved to date. Looking ahead, we’re excited for the organization’s continued growth and the future FWC team members who will help us realize our mission to preserve the diversity and unique history of Woodfords Corner and foster a thriving, welcoming, and sustainable village hub.
The time has come for us to transition from a completely volunteer-led organization to one with staff. In 2023, we want to add a part-time paid staff person to our team who can manage the growing amount of work required to support our burgeoning nonprofit. Learn more about our plans for growth, and donate today!

Book of the Month at Back Cove Books
Walkable Streets by Jeff Speck
Now that we have a bookstore right in the corner, we hope to encourage our neighbors to get as nerdy as we are about the revitalization of Woodfords Corner. Stop by Back Cove Books and pick up a copy of Walkable Cities by Jeff Speck. Any of us at FWC would be happy to share coffee and chat about how much this book clarifies our path to a pleasant, safe, attractive, and walkable neighborhood hub.
Maybe don’t read it while you’re walking.

GPCOG Regional Transit Plan - please send your support!
The GPCOG Regional Transportation Plan is open for comment. This is an important document in that it sets goals and a tentative list for projects to spend GPCOG's allocation of transportation funds on. Without being listed in the Plan, a project can't be funded. The plan is here. It currently lists a "Forest Avenue" project in the 2026-2030 timeframe. From what we see, that's great news.
They are taking comments now on a simple form or you can email comments to transportation@gpcog.org. Read more >>>
