Jan and Feb 2026 Ripe for Repair Meet Ups
The January and February Ripe for Repair Meetups were well attended, with 75-100 folks participating at each event. Neighbors gathered together to share skills and repair a wide variety of items including: small home appliances, toys, clothing, textiles, ceramics, bikes, and so much more!
A quick count captured 70 small appliances that were fixed, extending the life of these items and promoting sustainability. Popular appliance repairs included: Kitchen Aid mixers, food processors, pressure cookers, toaster ovens, electric kettles, coffee grinders, vacuums, stereos, radios, record players, alarm clocks, lamps, and sewing machines.
Ripe for Repair Meetups are free community events where people come together to help each other fix everything from small home appliances to damaged textiles. They’re about celebrating under- appreciated skills and learning new ones, holding on to things that take a lot of resources to make but can quickly end up in landfills, and connecting with other humans. Experts, novices and curious spectators welcome!
Join us for the next Ripe for Repair Meetup and bring something that needs to be fixed and/or skills to share!
