Goodbye and best wishes to Sissle and Daughters

In case you missed it on instagram, we’re sharing the announcement from Mary and Will from Sissle and Daughters, the new restaurant that closed unexpectedly last month. WWE hope you enjoyed their effort and the transformation of the old Merlin Motors into a lovely gathering space. And while they needed to leave sooner than hoped, we’re grateful they gave Woodfords Corner a boost. Make a point to go by their Washington Avenue Cheesemongers & Grocers. We’ll miss y’all!

Here’s their announcement.

Dear friends of Sissle & Daughters on Forest Ave,

It is with deep sadness that we are announced that we will be closing our FOREST AVE location as of February 22nd. The circumstances of this closure came on suddenly, and are deeply personal. We are thankful for our wonderful staff, of whom we have profound admiration and respect. They champion this space well, and we feel so lucky to have developed great relationships with such kind and passionate folks. We have learned so much from them. We cannot express how much we have loved serving the Woodfords Corner neighborhood for the short period that we were a part of it; your enthusiasm for the space, the food and the community was palpable every day. REST ASSURED, Sissle & Daughters Cheesemongers at Washington Ave is stronger than ever! We are honored to continue to serve you there, and look forward to having Mary back on our cheese counter!
If you contributed to our NuMarket campaign with credits at the Forest Ave location, you may use them between now and the 22nd. At that time, your credits will automatically switch over to the Washington Ave location. Our sincere gratitude to anyone who visited Sissle & Daughters Coffee, Wine Bar & Grocer: thank you. We’ll see you across town.

Mary and Will, owners
