Thank You Nancy Grant for your Board service!

As Nancy steps down from Board service to volunteer team level, we must take this moment to acknowledge her enormous contributions to Friends of Woodfords Corner.

Since 2018, Nancy has made significant contributions our neighborhood hub through her leadership and advocacy, particularly in active transportation and community safety and the development of a strong board. Back then, FWC was a small, enthusiastic and youthful band of neighbors finding our way forward – just learning about what we could do and applying for the national Main Street America Affiliation.  As Vice President of the board, she provided steady governance and helped guide the organization’s strategic efforts to enhance Woodfords Corner’s public spaces.

Nancy also chaired the Active Transportation Committee, where she led efforts to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety, advocate for traffic calming measures, and foster projects that make the neighborhood more inviting and accessible for all. Under her leadership, the committee worked on crosswalk enhancements, street safety campaigns, community walking audits, and placemaking activities—efforts that brought tangible safety improvements and strengthened FWC’s role as a community advocate.

Nancy’s long-standing commitment to safer, more walkable streets and her service as a board leader have been integral to FWC’s mission of fostering a thriving, welcoming, and sustainable Woodfords Corner.  Here are some of the projects that illustrate her amazing contributions:

  • Sidewalk Surveys

  • Crosswalk Murals

  • Councilor Walks

  • Bike Station and Bike Mean Business

  • Street Lights

  • Crosswalks on Forest Avenue

  • Annual Appeal
