Neighbors helping neighbors: Support the small NPs in Woodfords Corner

In this time of giving, consider some of our neighbors doing great work. Woodfords Corner boasts several small, hyper-local, one-of-a-kind, non-profit organizations that are struggling to survive the challenges of COVID economic downturn. Please consider helping these small NPs through your donations, volunteer support or simply spreading the word.

Speedwell Projects - our only local art center and gallery, an artist incubator and the organization that brought Hopeful to the corner

Portland Conservatory of Music - for 25 years offering musical education and free or low cost performances

Stages Youth Theater - unlocking self-discovery of young through the transformative power of theater

Project Feed - food pantry located at Woodfords Congregational Church

Birth Roots - supporting new families from pregnancy through early childhood

Center for Grieving Children - since 1987 offering hope and support to children, teens and their families through a peer support model

Portland Recovery Community Center - providing free support, education and resources for people recovering from and affected by addiction

Portland Ballet - enriching community through dance education and performance

Friends of Feral Felines - humanely helping feral cats through adoption and neutering

Portland Community Squash - delivering squash, wellness and afterschool programs for kids

A Company of Girls - empowering girls and their families through the arts

Two larger organizations are also in Woodfords Corner. Our newest neighbors United Way of Greater Portland and American Red Cross.
