Family Promise Program seeking volunteers - Four weeks each year, Woodfords Congregational Church hosts families who are part of the Family Promise program. Family Promise utilizes local congregations to provide shelter, meals and support services to homeless families, and has an excellent track record of moving participants into permanent housing (https://greaterportlandfamilypromise.org/). Volunteers are needed to set up the space, bring evening meals, hang out with the families in the evening, and sleep overnight. On-site volunteers are required to complete a 3-hour training prior to volunteering. Set up and food volunteers do not need training. Host weeks for 2019 start on June 9, August 25, and November 24.
