Woodfords Community Garden Tour Sponsors - Thank you!

Since we launched FWC, our neighbors Tom and Amy Landry of Benchmark Real Estate have sponsored the Woodfords Community Garden Tour and other events. Tom and Amy believe in the power of local and are committed to helping Woodfords Corner continue to grow into the thriving hub we all enjoy. We are so grateful to them for their unending support of FWC. They are truly rooted in community.

And this year we welcome our legacy business Great Lost Bear as Garden Tour sponsor. The Great Lost Bear was founded in 1979 by Weslie and Dave Evans and Chip MacConnell. Located at 540 Forest Avenue in what was then referred to as the “mysterious Woodfords Corner,” the restaurant has always been known for it’s eclectic pub fare and friendly atmosphere. Generations have eaten and raised a pint through the many years that GLB been serving Portland and it has been on the forefront of the craft beer industry since its opening, representing all Maine bears as well as craft beers from around the country. In 2023 it was passed down to Byrd and Michael Dickson and Andy Pillsbury, three long-time employees. Thank you to founders Weslie and Dave for believing in FWC’s mission from the start, and for Byrd and Mike for keeping the tradition going.

As a special treat on the day of the garden tour, GLB will be offering a Cactus Flower Cocktail - A spicy gold tequila cocktail made with elderberry, rose and cucumber. Stop by after the tour!
