Forest Ave Redesign Project: Existing Conditions Phase Completed

In August 2023, the City of Portland launched a project to make Forest Ave safer and more accessible. The goal of the Forest Avenue Redesign Project is to provide updated analysis and street design recommendations to modernize the street along the stretch from Woodfords Corner to the USM area.

Once data is gathered and recommendations are provided, the city will seek funding to implement the changes. As of this month, the Existing Conditions phase was completed, with memos prepared by Toole Design Group. According to the data, vehicular traffic levels, which were recorded in October 2023, are 20% lower than they were pre-pandemic.
