Looking for a new volunteer opportunity? Center for Grieving Children is looking for helping hands!

The Center for Grieving Children, a non-profit organization that provides a free, safe space for Mainers to grieve together and grow in hope and resiliency through its peer support groups, is looking for volunteers to participate in its upcoming facilitator trainings!

Facilitators are the heart of the Center’s services and become part of a loving and supportive community while they offer support to children, teens, adults and families across Maine, for as long as they need. Facilitators are asked to complete a 30+ hour training and commit to a year of volunteering virtually or in-person in either Sanford or Portland. Facilitators help out one evening per week in the Center’s Bereavement or Tender Living Care (TLC) program, or one afternoon a week in the Intercultural Program. For more information about the Center, its services and volunteer opportunities, visit cgcmaine.org.

Facilitators are asked to:

  • make a commitment of one-year.

  • complete a 30+ hour training. Volunteers in the Intercultural Program receive additional training.

  • complete a background check to ensure the safety of families and volunteers.

  • be at least 18 years old.

To learn more, please reach out to Volunteer@cgcmaine.org to sign up for a Volunteer Information Session (VIS).
