Thank you Martha, Market Manager Extraordinaire!
This month we said goodbye to Martha Lefebvre, our graduate assistant who helped us get the Woodfords Corner Farmers Market off the ground. Martha graduated from the University of Southern Maine - Muskie School of Public Service. She received a master’s degree in Policy, Planning, and Management as well as a certificate in Food Studies.
She hopes to put her degree to work strengthening Maine’s local food economy, and increasing food and land equity throughout the state. Martha is especially interested in the environmental impact of the global food system, and the intersection of feminism and veganism.
Martha has also been working at Good Shepherd Food Bank (GFSB). As their Community Health and Hunger Program Coordinator, Martha works very closely with GSFB’s healthcare partners. She coordinates for resources for patients experiencing food insecurity, emergency food bags, and works with their partners to help implement Hunger Vital Signs Food Insecurity Screenings.
We are so grateful for all of Martha’s hard work - we could not have started a farmers market without her.
