Maine Economic Improvement Fund Sponsors Graduate Student for FWC

As part of a continued effort to facilitate collaboration between the University of Maine system and local community organizations, the Maine Economic Improvement Fund (MEIF) is sponsoring a graduate assistant to work alongside Friends of Woodfords Corner this semester. Neal Goldberg, a master’s candidate in public policy at USM’s Muskie School, will be joining the FWC team to support their mission of community revitalization. Neal’s role with FWC will entail small business development (beginning with Woodfords Corner newest grocery mart, Glory Shop and owner Gloriose Karumuna), community engagement campaigns, and administrative organization. Additionally, to strengthen FWC-USM partnership, Neal will help plan and coordinate projects for the USM community to undertake on behalf of Friends of Woodfords Corner. The goal is to build a lasting relationship between USM students and staff, and one of their closest (and coolest) community organizations, Friends of Woodfords Corner. Let’s welcome Neal to the community and show him the many wonderful people and businesses that call Woodfords Corner home.
