Meet near Bird & Co on Deering Ave
Every Spring, FWC closes Deering Ave, between Forest Ave and Lincoln St, to paint our colorful crosswalk murals. The murals help slow traffic, beautify our neighborhood, and let passerbys know that the Corner is a place to hang. Lots of hands are needed to help paint and divert traffic. 4th Annual Garden Tour
June 8th, 1 to 4 pm
Join neighbors and horticulture lovers from near and far for a self-guided tour of 10+ gardens throughout the Woodfords Corner Community – in Back Cove, Deering Highlands, Oakdale, and Deering Center. Enjoy an afternoon wandering the Corner's lovely hidden gems and visiting some of the our wonderful restaurants and markets. Tickets are a suggested donation of $20 per person. You can purchase tickets by clicking the button below, or on the day of at 651 Forest Ave.

As a small but mighty volunteer-led nonprofit, we’ve made a lot of progress since our 2015 inception. In 2023, we want to add a part-time paid staff person to our team who can manage the growing amount of work required to support our burgeoning nonprofit. Our vision for Woodfords Corner remains grand. As this organization has evolved and become a Main Street America affiliate, we have more work than our small army of volunteers can accomplish. Employing a paid staff person will help us to more fully realize our goals and vision, and make a much bigger impact on the community as a whole.

At Friends of Woodfords Corner, we are always interested to know about local news and events. If you have something you would like to share with the community or have an event and you’re trying to get the word out, tell us about it! We will review submissions and publish relevant news and announcements on our site and Facebook page.

Since its inception in 2015, FWC has been working to to create a safe, walkable, welcoming, and vibrant neighborhood hub thanks to the efforts of dedicated and energetic volunteers. As the organization evolves, we are in need of more volunteers to contribute their time, talents, and enthusiasm for the corner to help us achieve our goals and continue to support our community.
